MCWRA Bylaw updates
Notice of Agency Bylaw Amendments – Effective Now
Please be advised that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency has adopted updates to its bylaws that are now in effect. The changes relate to the Agency’s committees and are summarized below for clarity and public understanding.
Finance and Administration Committee (FAC) re-registration required
The former Personnel & Administration Committee and Finance Committee have been combined to form the Finance and Administration Committee (FAC).
Purpose: FAC advises staff and the Board on matters related to the Agency’s existing programs and projects, including personnel, administration, and governmental affairs, and related financial management practices.
Meeting Schedule:
- First Friday of each month
- 9:00 a.m.
Planning Committee
The Planning Committee will continue without change.
Purpose: The Committee advises staff and the Board on development of short- and long-range plans for activities in which the Agency is involved, or might become involved, including strategic planning.
Meeting Schedule:
- First Wednesday of each month
- 10:00 a.m.
Water Resources Advisory Committee (WRAC) re-registration required
The former Reservoir Operations Advisory Committee and Basin Management Advisory Committee have been combined to create the Water Resources Advisory Committee (WRAC).
Purpose: WRAC reviews the Agency’s operation of the Nacimiento and San Antonio Dams and Reservoirs, the Salinas Valley Water Project, and the resulting impacts on the Salinas Valley Groundwater Basin, including hydrologic conditions therein.
Meeting Schedule:
- Last Thursday of each month
- 1:30 p.m.
These updates are intended to improve efficiency and coordination while maintaining transparency and public engagement.
Public Notice Registration Update
Due to these committee changes, members of the public will be required to re-register for committee meeting notices for FAC and WRAC through the Monterey County Water Resources Agency website. This will ensure continued receipt of agendas, meeting updates, and public notices for the committees of interest.
