The Community Benefits Branch provides temporary public assistance benefits and services to assist eligible residents of Monterey County meet their basic needs. Programs include:
- CalFresh (food assistance)
- CalWORKS (temporary cash assistance for families)
- General assistance (temporary cash assistance for adults without dependent children)
- Medi-Cal (health insurance for low-income families, seniors, and adults with disabilities)
- Refugee Cash Assistance/Other Cash Assistance Programs (temporary cash assistance for Refugees, Trafficking & Crime Victims)
Eligibility for these public benefits is based upon income and resource levels.
