Agency Description:
Community Human Services is a 501c(3) public nonprofit and Joint Powers Authority providing person-centered substance abuse and mental health counseling and recovery services to middle and low income individuals and families in Monterey County, California. Community Human Services helps clients develop new skills and support networks, learn new behaviors, and learn to utilize community resources.

Mission:
To house, empower, and rejuvenate those facing the rigors of homelessness, displacement, and domestic violence.
Agency Description:
Community Homeless Solutions is a non-profit corporation, formed in 1978 under the name Shelter Outreach Plus to offer emergency shelter services to women and children fleeing domestic violence. Since this time, Community Homeless Solutions has grown to become one of the largest agency serving homeless individuals and families in Monterey County. Programs and services provide housing to the homeless, emergency shelter to individuals and families fleeing domestic violence, and an array of supportive services that enable homeless families and individuals to access food, obtain employment assistance/jobs, and to transition to permanent housing.

Mission:
Gathering for Women’s mission is to provide homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula supportive resources and a caring community. Their vision is for the unhoused and housing insecure women on the Peninsula to live a healthier more secure life that includes a pathway out of homeless or housing insecurity.
Agency Description:
Gathering for Women was founded in 2014 to support, assist, and empower low-income women and improve the quality of their lives. The agency provides nutritious hot meals, clothing, access to showers and hygiene, comprehensive case management, referrals to other community services, and education to promote health and safety.

Agency Description:
Goodwill Central Coast believes that everyone has the right to work, but for many individuals the barriers to employment are too high to overcome alone. Barriers like homelessness, military service, single parenting, incarceration, addiction, and job displacement can define a person’s identity, even when they have so much more to offer. The agency goal is to ensure all community members know their worth and gain skills and confidence to land jobs that could turn their lives around. Each year Goodwill helps thousands of job seekers get back to work and reclaim financial and personal independence. This is achieved by providing a positive learning environment that creates brighter futures through connecting people to meaningful work.

Mission:
Meals On Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula’s mission is to empower seniors, disabled adults, veterans, and other underserved populations to remain independent by nourishing their bodies, minds, and spirits, and drive out hunger and isolation in our region.
Agency Description:
Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula (MOWMP) was founded in 1972. The Meals on Wheels Community Center has been the home of MOWMP since 1987. The Community Center is the home base for Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula staff and houses the kitchen they use to make all their meals. Members of the Center travel from all over the County to engage in these unique programmatic offerings. The Center effectively offers food and programming to ambulatory seniors. In addition, to those who don’t have a caregiver or family member in the home and cannot shop or cook for themselves. MOWMP delivers freshly prepared, nutritious meals five days a week.

Mission:
Partnership for Children increases access to medical care for children with serious illnesses and supports their families.
Agency Description:
Partnership for Children (PFC) started as a program within the Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition (CHPCC) in 2007. Today, PFC is an independent nonprofit organization that works in partnership with CHPCC. PFC provides services for children who are living with a serious illness by providing safe, free, and reliable rides to medical appointments, as well as gas card subsidies to ease financial burdens. PFC also offers financial subsidies to help families pay for basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, and practical supports such as grocery delivery, diaper supply, and car seats.

Since 1968, Sun Street Centers has provided comprehensive and effective services for education, prevention and recovery of alcohol addiction and drug abuse. Relying on a recognized social model developed by their founders, Martin and Nancy Dodd, as well as the compassion and experience of staff, Sun Street centers encourages all individuals and families to hope, heal, share and thrive with a drug-free and alcohol-free lifestyle.

Agency Description:
United Way Monterey County (UWMC) was established in June 2000 by the union of two United Ways: United Way of the Monterey Peninsula, created in 1929 and United Way of the Salinas Valley, created in 1943. UWMC works collaboratively with local businesses, government, and community benefit organizations to tackle critical issues in the community. UWMC is affiliated with local United Ways throughout the U.S. and internationally, through a network known as United Way Worldwide. Through this network, UWMC shares best practices around community building, fundraising, data sharing, and strategy implementation. United Way has strong corporate relationships and is positioned as a philanthropic partner for businesses with local, regional, and national scope.

Mission:
To inspire and empower the youth of Monterey County to realize their full potential to become responsible, healthy, responsible, productive, and successful citizens.
Agency Description:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) has been a leading youth development agency in Monterey County for 55 years, providing thousands of children, ages 6-18 years old, with a safe and affordable place to go after school and during school breaks. Our Salinas, Seaside and Virtual Clubhouses are serving over 500 youth daily and we have programming on school campuses to supplement instruction to over 800 students on 12 campuses annually. Currently, 86% of our families qualify for their school's free and reduced meal program. Our mission is committed to the families that need us most.
