November CalFresh Benefits

Due to the federal government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is not sending money to states for November CalFresh (SNAP) benefits.
This means counties cannot add money to your EBT card until federal funding is restored.
This impacts all CalFresh households and cannot be appealed.
If you need food now, visit foodbankformontereycounty.org or 211montereycounty.org to find your local food bank.

It is important that all beneficiaries continue submitting their SAR7 report, annual recertifications, and changes to avoid delay once funds resume. We also encourage residents in need of benefits to apply.

This does not affect CalWORKs or Medi-Cal for November.

CalFresh is California’s food stamps (SNAP) program. The CalFresh Program is designed to supplement the food budget of low-income households to meet their nutritional needs. Individuals granted CalFresh benefits can buy food at a grocery store or other authorized places using an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card. The amount of CalFresh benefits a family receives is based on household size, family income and resources.
