Highly qualified social workers provide a friendly voice on the phone to help seniors and others navigate the array of available services. Specialized resource counseling services with referrals can provide smooth access to services and help improve the lives of isolated seniors, persons with disabilities and family caregivers.
Voluntary Contributions
We accept voluntary contributions for services we provide to the community through the Area Agency on Aging. There is no obligation to contribute; it is purely voluntary. No eligible individual shall be denied service because of failure or inability to contribute. Contributions will be private and confidential to respect the individual’s contribution or lack of contribution. If at any time you would like to contribute to this program, please make a check payable to County of Monterey Area Agency on Aging, reference "IRA voluntary contribution" and select which program service (Community Education, Information & Assistance, Public Information, Transportation) you would like to contribute to.

Age Wise Program
The Age Wise Program supports Monterey County adults aged 60 and older by connecting them with services designed to enhance their overall mental health and well-being. Our team of caring professionals is here to help you receive personalized care through a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach.

Senior Nutrition Program & Sites
Eligible seniors (60+ years of age) can receive a $50 e-card to buy fresh, local produce, cut herbs, and raw honey at Certified Farmers’ Markets through the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program. See the flyer in English or Spanish.
Seniors' Luncheons
Offered in several locations throughout Monterey County, the Senior Lunch Program offers nutritious food and friendly company for seniors over 60.

- Certified Farmer’s Markets: The farmers markets in the County of Monterey offer a stunning array of locally grown produce, a wide selection of delicious specialty products, as well as the opportunity to connect with the people who produce it.
There are a total of 17 certified farmers’ markets within the County, nine of which operate on a year-round basis.

- 2023 County of Monterey’s Area Agency on Aging’s AAA Senior Focus Group Report (English) (Spanish): A Rural Snapshot based on focus groups held with seniors living in North and South County. A total of 80 seniors (age 60 and older) living in Castroville, North County, King City and Greenfield participated in these focus groups.
AAA Service Provider Resources
Would you like to contract with the AAA to provide services to older adults?- The AAA is part of County of Monterey and works with the Contracts/Purchasing Office. The AAA looks for most contractors/vendors through a Request for Proposal process every 4 years.
