Anonymous Crime Tip

If this is an emergency, STOP AND CALL 911.

The crime tip line is not monitored 24 hours a day or seven days a week. Please note that your submission could take up to two weeks to process. If you desire a response for in progress criminal activity, please dial 911 for emergencies or (831) 755-5111 for non-emergencies.

This form should only be used for the unincorporated areas of the County of Monterey, which are represented by the Office of the Sheriff. If the crime occurred within city limits, like Salinas or Monterey, please contact the respective police department.

Other notes for crime tip submissions: 

• To report suspicious or illegal cannabis growing activity, please call (831) 755-3785. You can still remain Anonymous if you wish. If someone doesn’t answer the line, please leave a detailed message.
• This form may be used to submit crime information OR suspicious behavior. In order to ensure the usefulness of the tips, try and give the most information possible.
• You do not have to give your name if you choose to submit the form below anonymously, but it would be useful if we can contact you.
