The PWFP - Facilities Division works “behind the scenes” to provides a wide range of central services to County departments, supporting safe and efficient delivery of County services to our residents.

Urgent Building Maintenance issues should be called in to the Service Request Phone Line for immediate attention.

Service requests may be used to address issues including but not limited to:
Repairs to doors, locks, and window security; building environment (HVAC) issues, plumbing or electrical problems, pest control problems; restroom supplies; items to be installed on walls or doors such as pictures, signs, coat hangers; grounds maintenance items such as sprinkler repair, tree, shrub, and lawn trimming.

Buildings & Grounds Maintenance completes more than 14,000 service requests annually and provides preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, back-up generators and fire suppression systems. The PWFP-Facilities Grounds team maintains over 190 County owned sites including mowing, trimming, irrigation, pruning, litter control, and special projects such as weed abatement for fire prevention, and emergency tree clearing. The Building Maintenance team maintains over 2.5 million square feet of office space providing building maintenance, initiating and completing repair projects, and supporting custodial services, parking controls, security and access programs.

Facility Administration and Special Programs manages multiple Central Service programs on behalf of Facilities Division. Responsibilities include processing over 1,500 annual badge and janitorial requests for multi-department facilities, handling more than 545,000 pieces of County mail, responding to over 14,000 Records Retention Center requests for records and shredding, support for dozens of annual contracts and procurements, development of the Capital Improvement Program 5-Year Plan annual update, and more.

Fleet Management provides cost effective, innovative, quality fleet management services for County departments. In fulfilling its mission, Fleet repairs and maintains over 1,200 County vehicles and heavy equipment, manages vehicle purchases and auctions, performs installation of specialized equipment on law enforcement vehicles.

The PWFP-Facilities Capital Projects Team manages an average of 30+ concurrent capital infrastructure projects with project budgets exceeding $30,000,000 each year. In addition, the team manages multiple unscheduled maintenance projects as they arise, assist departments in development of new capital projects, and deliver on PWFP’s responsibility to implement capital projects on behalf of the County.

The Capital Projects Team uses industry best practices in architectural design and project management to ensure County capital projects address all foreseeable health, safety and constructability factors. This adherence to industry standards ensures that projects limited cost overruns while meeting all code requirements.

Real Property Services maintains official records of over 100 County-owned facilities totaling more than 2,000,000 sq. ft., and administers over 75 property leases totaling more than 500,000 sq. ft.
