Project No. 621071

About the Project:  Monterey County experienced substantial winter storms in 2017 that caused significant damage along Palo Colorado Road. Both County staff and FEMA staff walked Palo Colorado Road as soon as the Federal Funds became available for the repair of the areas damaged by the winter storms. The proposed work areas are 13 storm damage sites and 36 drainage improvement sites. The repairs include the installation of soldier-pile walls and soil nail walls, slope stabilization, and construction of drainage improvements.

Environmental Determination:
Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Palo Colorado Road Storm Damage Repair Project

Project Costs:  The estimated construction cost is $15 million, partially funded by FEMA/CalOES.
