DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING’S BIRTHDAY OBSERVED: On Saturday, January 17, all Monterey County Free Libraries locations, including Seaside, will be closed in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s. Birthday.
The Administrative Office and Seaside Branch will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of the holiday. All locations will reopen on Tuesday, January 20.

Rooms and Fees:
Castroville, Greenfield, King City, Marina, Prunedale: $20 per hour
- Checks: Checks should be made out to MCFL and delivered directly to the hosting branch.
- Eligibility: Rooms are available to Non-Profit or Government Agencies only.
- Advanced Reservations: Reservations are taken up to 90 days in advance.
- Requirements: A current MCFL Library card with your email contact information, EIN number, phone number are required.*
- Conditions: Groups must abide by the Meeting Room Policy.
- Need Help? Phone and in person assistance are available during regular library hours at the specific branch you are booking.
Meeting Rooms are available only to government agencies and IRS registered non-profit organizations. All non-profit or government agencies requesting to book the meeting room must provide a valid library card number and EIN (Employer Identification Number) at time of booking. Meeting room request will not be approved unless this information is provided for each booking.
*How can I find out if my group is listed by the IRS as a nonprofit?
To find out if your group is listed as a nonprofit, you can use the IRS Tax Exempt Organization search page (https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/). You can search by Organization Name, State and/or City.
*Where can I find information about obtaining nonprofit status?
If your organization is not listed, you can learn how to apply for nonprofit status on the IRS website (https://www.irs.gov/charities-and-nonprofits), which includes information on exemption requirements for different types of nonprofits (https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/other-non-profits/requirements-for-exemption), as well as an online application for an EIN.
