Water Allocation Board Policy (REF250037)

Information:

Description:
  • The County of Monterey is developing a Water Allocation Policy to establish a clear and consistent framework for distributing limited water resources recently allocated to the County within the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District (MPWMD) area. Historically, water credits were allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, creating uncertainty for projects when supplies were depleted. The new policy will replace this approach with a systematic process that promotes fair distribution of water resources while supporting the County’s housing and economic development goals.
