• The Housing Element is required by state law as included in the County of Monterey General Plan and in accordance with the current 6th Cycle Update to plan adequate housing for everyone in the unincorporated Countywide community. The process for updating the Housing Element requires review and approval by California Housing and Community Development (CA HCD) to determine compliance with state housing law.
