Alcohol and Substance Use
Facing the challenges of substance use is never easy, but remember, there are many paths to healing, and treatment is just one of the options. Harm reduction strategies can also be a powerful way to take control of your journey toward well-being. (Harm reduction includes Medication Assisted Treatment, Peer Support, mental health support, and Naloxone access, to name a few) You don't have to navigate this alone — with support and the right resources, you can find the strength to make positive changes and create a brighter future. We're here to help, every step of the way, in whatever way works best for you.
Services
Through the Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System, our providers offer an array of substance use services including screening, assessment, case management, individual/group/family counseling, peer support services, case management, and access to Medication Assisted Treatment. These services are provided in several levels of substance use care including outpatient, intensive outpatient, withdrawal management, residential, and Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) in an outpatient setting. Services are provided throughout the county through various service providers.
When you contact us for services, a staff member will complete a brief screening with you over the phone which will help determine the best services to meet your needs.
Our mental health and substance use services are available for Monterey County residents who are Medi-Cal beneficiaries, uninsured, or undocumented. All substance use services are available to individuals 18+, and youth services for individuals ages 12-17.
All of our service providers strive to create a supportive environment, where individuals feel heard and empowered on their path to improved well-being.
Accessing Care
You can request Substance Use Disorder services by:
- Calling the County Behavioral Health ACCESS line at 1-888-258-6029 and speak to an ACCESS representative who can help you find the right service for you or someone you care about. Our lines are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our services are available in both English and Spanish.
- Directly contacting the service providers, listed below.
If you have private insurance coverage through a health plan, it is recommended to call the health plan directly to get a referral to a covered behavioral health provider.
