11/04/2025 Statewide Special Election
November 4, 2025 Statewide Special Election
General Information
During this special election, voters will decide on Proposition 50 Use of Legislative Congressional Redistricting Map Amendment (Assembly Constitutional Amendment 8). If passed, Proposition 50 will implement new congressional districts from Assembly Bill 604. These districts will be in place until the Citizens Redistricting Commission provides new districts in 2031. For more information visit: Statewide Special Election :: California Secretary of State.
Voting Information
All active voters will receive a ballot by mail. Ballots may be returned by mail or to any official ballot return box or in-person voting location in the state.
In-person voting opportunities will be available including the elections office, satellite office, and assigned polling places. Please note, due to the nature of the special election being called after the deadline to call for an election, assigned polling places may have changed. Assigned polling place information, if applicable, is included in the mail ballot packet.
Voter Information Guides
Our office is required to send a local voter information guide to those voters who have not opted out of this mailing. The local voter information guide will only include voting instructions. The Local Voter Information Guide is available here: Voter Guide
The Secretary of State will mail the State Voter Information Guide with details about the proposition. The State Voter Information Guide is available here: https://voterguide.sos.ca.gov/
Both guides will be available online. Voters may opt out of receiving both guides in the mail.

If you make a mistake on your ballot, you can simply make a notation correcting your vote. Line through the selection you do not want and the oval you want removed. Then correctly fill in the oval corresponding with the selection of your choosing. Do not initial or sign your name after the correction. You can also call and ask for a replacement ballot or visit an in-person voting location for assistance.
If your ballot was challenged because of a missing or mismatched signature, you can correct it by submitting a new signature. The deadline to resolve this is 5:00 PM two days before the election certification date.
