Urban County Standing Committee

Committee Role and Responsibilities: The Urban County Standing Committee provides oversight for the Urban County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The 2026-2028 Urban County is a consortium made up of the County of Monterey and cities of Gonzales, Greenfield, Marina, and Sand City. Cities have the option of joining or withdrawing from the consortium every three-years.

1. Provide review and recommendations concerning the annual allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.
2. Review and assess accomplishments of the Urban County’s CDBG accomplishments.
3. Assess community development needs and suitability for CDBG funding.
