Board of Supervisors Health, Housing, Homelessness and Human Services Committee

Committee Role:
The Health, Housing, Homelessness and Human Services Committee reviews requests and recommendations for policies and programs regarding health, housing, homelessness and human services issues impacting the County of Monterey.

Committee Responsibilities:
1. Provide review and recommendations concerning new strategic policy initiatives, priority projects, and/or changes in existing policies regarding health, housing, homelessness and human services activities in addition to collective impact initiatives to address homelessness, gang violence prevention, governing for racial equity and other items as it relates to health, housing, homelessness and human services.

2. Review and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding legislative, budgetary, regulatory, and priority grant issues which could impact or benefit the County.

3. Provide recommendations to the Health, Housing, Homelessness and Human Services Committee staff and County departments to strategically direct and coordinate activities in alignment with the goals of the County’s Strategic Initiatives and in support of efforts to address community needs as they relate to health, housing, homelessness and human services.

4. Review and assess challenges facing the County’s health, housing, homelessness and human services system.

5. Review and assess accomplishments of the County’s health, housing, homelessness and human services system.

6. Meet on a quarterly basis to review and provide recommendations to Health, Housing, Homelessness and Human Services staff, County departments, and the County’s community partners.
