IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE MONTEREY COUNTY CLERK/RECORDER’S OFFICE

Effective on January 1, 2026, pursuant to Health & Safety code 103625(f) there will be a $2 fee increase applicable to the cost of certified copies of birth, marriage, and death records.

New fees:

Birth Records $31

Death Records $26

Marriage Records $19

The Monterey County Recorder’s Office issues vital records ONLY for births, deaths, and marriages that have occurred in the County of Monterey.
